About Peak Teams’ African Safari
African Safari is one of Peak Teams’ interactive Virtual Adventures. During a Virtual Adventure, business teams are challenged with real life scenarios that Peak Teams facilitators have filmed while climbing mountains, on safari in Africa or surfing around the world. These scenarios, combined with spectacular footage, personal stories and expert facilitation, provide powerful learning experiences.
African Safari features video footage from South Africa’s Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve and personal stories from Peak Teams presenter and former game ranger Ian Schubach.
How the Program Works
The program participants (aka safari guests in their jeeps), have a limited amount of time and money to find the Big 5 (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard) in a competitive and highly pressured ecosystem. Before starting, the team must establish clear roles and plan for success as they need to buy key information from each other to learn how to track their targets effectively.
Once the safari begins, communication becomes paramount as the teams must work together as they track the Big 5 via video and audio footage. Only if they collaborate as one team will they find the Big 5 and score the maximum number of points.
The program has been run for groups of 10-750 people, from 1.5 hours to many days. For more information please contact us at
